From Philosophy and the arts to Law, Geography, and Literature, this issue of UNAM Internacional invites us to explore the vast and essential territory of humanities and their inherent connection with society. It reveals how these disciplines engage in dialogue and address topics such as sustainability, historical memory, and interdisciplinary analysis.

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in its role as both mediator and protagonist in this dialogue, projects the achievements, reflections, and contributions of its community to the world, reaffirming its commitment to the generation of knowledge that transforms.

In its second issue, UNAM Internacional examined the link between scientific knowledge and society, highlighting the university as a producer of knowledge and an ethical beacon in its application. This issue focuses on humanities, exploring their impact on the life, time, and space we share, and their role in building a conscious and critical society.

Humanities at our great university are a melting pot where disciplines such as Law, Architecture, Urban Planning, and Literature converge, enriching our understanding of the present and projecting us toward a future together. These disciplines not only connect us to our past through history and classical literature, but they also inspire us to reinterpret culture and identity, strengthening our empathy and our sense of community.

Each article in this issue is testimony of the human potential cultivated at UNAM, covering topics from Artificial Intelligence to Big Data analysis—tools that expand the boundaries of interdisciplinarity. In times of global challenges, we reflect on the value of culture, redefine our identities, and project ourselves into the future with responsibility and hope.

This issue also celebrates significant milestones: the centenary of the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature, a cultural and academic stronghold of our university, and the 80th anniversary of the first UNAM Extension School in San Antonio, Texas, a pioneer in internationalization. These achievements reaffirm UNAM’s vocation as a global university, consolidating a network of knowledge and collaboration that transcends borders.

Humanities, university, society: a triad that defines our mission, nourishes our hope, and guides us in the ambitious task of building knowledge that interprets and transforms the world.
